ANTHONY GANGI JR YEAR END REPORT

The G7 Motorsports Team, along with team driver Anthony Gangi Jr., have put the wraps on an amazing sophomore season that included five major titles. In a long season that began back in January and criss crossed the US, Gangi Jr. logged plenty of miles and collected lots of hardware. The nine-year-old driver from New York State has put together an impressive string of race wins, series championships and national titles.

Florida Winter Tour
The season began in full stride in January as the team headed to the warm confines of Florida for the 2010 Florida Winter Tour. The winter series wrapped up at Ocala Gran Prix, the site for rounds five and six of the RMC-supported international karting series. Not to be denied the top spot on the box, the second year driver engaged in an epic battle for the win in the Sunday final race event. While not needing the win to clinch, Anthony Jr. was determined to put an exclamation mark on his new title and prove he was the man to beat in 2010. The team headed into the final weekend of competition sitting in second spot in the overall points fight, just 19 back of first place before drops. The G7 Motorsports Team left Ocala Gran Prix up 98 points on second place and the first major cadet championship of 2010 racing season.

Eastern Canadian Karting Championship
The G7 Motorsports Team headed north of the border to compete in the opening weekend of the newly minted Eastern Canadian Karting Championship. Team driver Anthony Gangi Jr. ran in the Rotax Micro Max class, running near the front of the field all weekend long. The young driver had to race under the extreme weather conditions that gripped Goodwood Kartways located in Stouffville, ON, just north of Toronto. Drivers were treated to rain, hail, snow and near freezing temperatures as they battled solid grids in all the classes. Running under the PSL Karting/CRG banner, the New York state-based team headed north for some Rotax action and to develop experience at some of Canada’s best tracks. In the Saturday final race it was Anthony Jr. taking the lead early and holding on to cross the line in first place. The victory would be short lived, as the Micro Max carburetor cap was not fully tightened, resulting in a technical disqualification for the race. For Rotax Micro Max Sunday final, the action was close and passing on the technical Goodwood Kartways track was fast and furious as the young Rotax racers all looked to score a win. At the line it was Anthony Jr. holding off a hard charging field to take the win and this time the victory would stick.

First to roll off for the afternoon finals, the Micro Max class looked to set the tone for an afternoon of great racing. At the line it was Anthony Jr. crossing in the fourth spot, just missing the podium in his first race at NCMP. In the Sunday final, heading into the final circuit, Anthony Jr. went to P1 and looked to control the outcome of the race. Off the backstretch a good draft from the second place kart moved Anthony Jr. back to second position at the line. The finish gave Anthony Jr. his first podium and second straight top five in just two starts at NCMP.

At the line it was Anthony Jr. in first place, 1.5 seconds clear of second position, and the new National Rotax Micro Max Champion.

"I am so happy to take the Grand Nationals title," smiled Anthony Jr. "Everyone worked so hard it was great to be able to win. My PSL Karting CRG Big Al was amazing all week long. I really want to thank Chris and my dad for everything."

On hand to support Anthony Jr. on his quest for a National title was Chris Perez, Jon Nevoso, Joe Fredricks along with Dominic Lebreque, Alex "Frenchy" Louet, Daniel "Big Dan" Lambert and the rest of the PSL Karting team. Up next for Anthony Jr. and the G7 Motorsports team will be a trip north of the border to the river side town of Trois Rivieres for the Monaco de Trois Riveres street race. Following that, he will compete in the Canadian National Karting Championships at the Mont Tremblant Karting Facilty on August 18 to 22.

ANTHONY GANGI JR - ROTAX GRAND NATIONALS PREVIEW

The G7 Motorsports Team heads back to the famed New Castle Motorsports Park to take part in the 2010 US Rotax Grand Nationals. The daunting mid west track, located just east of Indianapolis, Indiana will see the best Rotax racers in the country vie for National titles and trips to the Rotax Max Grand Finals being held in Laconca, Italy. While the Micro Max class is not an RMCGF class, there is still a lot on the line for the youngest Rotax racers as they chase a coveted national title. Just a few short weeks back NCMP played host to a full field of drivers in all the Rotax Max classes as part of the Rotax Pan Am Challenge. G7 Motorsports team driver Anthony Gangi Jr. ran in the Rotax Micro Max class, taking two top fives, which included a second place finish in Sunday action. The G7 Motorsports Team has been criss-crossing the North American racing scene running in both Canada and the US, looking to build on the great start to the 2010 season.

"I am excited about heading back to New Castle for the Grand Nationals," comments Gangi Jr. "It will be my second Grand Nationals. I learned a lot from the experience last year in Oklahoma and look to use that here at New Castle."

The year started on the right note, with Gangi Jr. taking the FWT Micro Max Championship in great style aboard his CRG Big Al cadet chassis. The talented 8-year-old put on a great winter performance and took the title from a large and deep field of cadet racers. In taking the title Gangi Jr. posted an impressive list of top fives, podiums and fast laps. The PSL Karting driver improved with each outing as he worked the three weekend, six race FWT schedule with tuner and coach Chris Perez.

The team then headed north of the border to run in the new Eastern Canadian Karting Championship. The ECKC would run a four weekend six round series covering both Ontario and Quebec. In the opening weekend of racing action Gangi Jr. took the win in the second round as the PSL Karting/CRG driver looked to measure up to the best Rotax competition that North America has to offer.

On target to complete a stellar third season of racing, the G7 Motorsports crew entered the Rotax Pan American race as a warm up to the Grand Nationals. It was a great weekend of action that saw Gangi Jr. at the sharp end of the time sheets all weekend long. Hard work in both days of racing helped the team gain some valuable data. In the Sunday final race Anthony would work the draft to grab second position at the checkerd flag. The finish gave Anthony Jr. his first podium and second straight top five in just two starts at NCMP.

Gangi Jr. has also been running in the North East Rotax Challenge and is coming off a solid outing at F1 Boston. Gangi Jr. took the win in Saturday racing action and backed that up with a second place finish in the Sunday main event. Anthony holds a solid lead in the North East Rotax series and looks to add another title to the already strong season he has built.

"We are looking forward to the Grand Nationals for sure," comments tuner Chris Perez. "Our first trip to New Castle was a good one and we have an excellent base line to work from. It looks really good for the Grand Nationals."

Anthony Jr. will participate in all scheduled days of action at the US Rotax Grand Nationals being held at New Castle Motorsports Park just 30 minutes from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Following the Grand Nationals, Anthony Jr. and the G7 Motorsports team will hit the next rounds of North East Rotax Regional Championship.

PODIUM FINISH FOR ANTHONY GANGI JR AT NEW CASTLE

The G7 Motorsports Team continues to criss cross the US and Canada as they campaign the biggest and best Rotax Max races in North America. The team made their first trip to New Castle Motorsports Park (NCMP), the famous mid west track located just east of Indianapolis, Indiana to compete in the latest rounds of the Rotax Pan American Challenge. Team driver Anthony Gangi Jr. ran in the Rotax Micro Max class, running near the front of the field all weekend long. Drivers were faced with changing and variable weather conditions forcing teams to be on their toes all weekend long.

"I was excited about making our first trip to New Castle," comments Gangi Jr. "This weekend will be a great test for us for the upcoming Grand Nationals in July."

Friday served up a full day of testing for the 16 Rotax Micro Max karts registered to compete in the double-header weekend National event. Anthony Jr. stayed at the front of the field all day long, taking fast lap in session four and third quick in the fifth and final session.

In Saturday racing action Anthony Jr. would qualify in the fifth spot as he began to learn the unique New Castle layout including the monster back straightaway. From his inside row three spot in the prefinal, Anthony Jr. would storm forward to take the prefinal win and grab a front row spot for the final. In the final a tough battle up front would see Anthony Jr. share the lead with several karts before it was settled on the last lap. At the line it was Anthony Jr. crossing in the fourth spot, just missing the podium in his first race at NCMP.

Sunday would be sunny skies and a fresh opportunity to run for a podium spot. In morning timed qualifying Anthony Jr. would struggled to complete a good hot lap and would have to settle for twelfth. In the prefinal, Anthony Jr. would need to move forward quickly through tight traffic and several draft packs. At the line Anthony Jr. would only be able to move up to eighth, a spot he didn’t hold for long. A post race penalty for contact would move the PSL Karting/CRG driver back one spot to ninth. In the final Anthony Jr. would look to recover hoping for another top five finish and some valuable championship points. From the drop of flag Anthony Jr. charged forward looking to hunt down the lead pack before they broke away. Past midway, Anthony Jr. had moved up into the top three and began to battle for the lead. Heading into the final circuit Anthony Jr. went to P1 and looked to control the outcome of the race. Off the backstretch a good draft from the second place kart moved Anthony Jr. back to second position at the line. The finish gave Anthony Jr. his first podium and second straight top five in just two starts at NCMP.

"Anthony Jr. was all over the place on Sunday morning," smiled tuner Chris Perez. "Once he settled down in the Sunday final he was very solid. I am really happy with our results for our first trip to New Castle. It looks really good for the Grand Nationals."

Up next for Anthony Jr. and the G7 Motorsports team will be rounds five and six of the North East Rotax Regional Championship taking place at Englishtown, NJ. Anthony Jr. is looking forward to the US Rotax Grand Nationals being held at New Castle Motorsports Park.

ANTHONY GANGI JR VICTORIOUS IN CANADA

The G7 Motorsports Team headed north of the border to compete in the opening round of the new minted Eastern Canadian Karting Championship. Team driver Anthony Gangi Jr. ran in the Rotax Micro Max class, running near the front of the field all weekend long. The young driver had to race under the extreme weather conditions that gripped Goodwood Kartways located in Stouffville, Ontario, just north of Toronto. Drivers were treated to rain, hail, and snow and near freezing temperatures as they battled solid grids in all the classes. Running under the PSL Karting/CRG banner, the New York state-based team headed north for some Rotax action and to develop experience at some of Canada's best tracks.

"The weather was big factor all weekend, but the kids did a great job," comments Anthony Gangi Sr. "The whole class was great and we did have a lot of fun, despite freezing conditions."

In Friday final timed practice Anthony Jr. would clock in with the second fastest circuit in the first time session of the day and follow that up with the fastest lap in the final timed session. Anthony Jr. would carry that momentum into the Saturday morning warm-up where he ran at the top of the time sheets again. In qualifying it was a bit different story as the team tried a rain tire set up and would clock through in the fourth spot. The team would rally to make adjustments and Anthony Jr. did his part storming forward to grab the pre-final win. In the final it was Anthony Jr. taking the lead early and holding on to cross the line in first place. The victory would be short lived, as the Micro Max carburetor cap was not fully tightened, resulting in a technical disqualification for the race.

Anthony Jr. would shake off the Saturday disappointment to set fast time in the frigid Sunday morning warm up session. That would be followed by third sport in timed qualifying as he looked to hit the podium in day two action. In the prefinal Anthony Jr. would move up one spot to cross the line in the second spot giving him a front row seat for the final. In the Rotax Micro Max Sunday final the action was close and passing on the technical Goodwood track was fast and furious as the young Rotax racers all looked to score a win. At the line it was Anthony Jr. holding off a hard charging field to take the win and this time the victory would stick.

"We messed up in the pits and didn't tighten the cap on the carb all the way after we checked for water and that cost Anthony Jr. the win," continued Anthony Sr. "But the kid bounced back really well and drove to the front to take the win. We are really proud of him."

Up next for Anthony Jr. and the G7 Motorsports Team will be rounds three and four of the North East Rotax Regional Championship taking place at F1 Boston. In the opening weekend of the NERRC held at OVRP just two weeks ago, Anthony Jr. was able to secure a first and second place finish in rounds one and two respectively. The team will be back to the Eastern Canadian Karting Challenge with Quebec-based PSL Karting as they head to Mosport International Karting for rounds three and four of racing action. Anthony Jr. is looking forward to the US Rotax Grand Nationals being held at New Castle Raceway just 20 minutes from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

ANTHONY GANGI JR TAKES FWT ROTAX MICRO MAX TITLE

10-fwt1-01
The G7 Motorsports Team celebrated a major milestone with team driver Anthony Gangi Jr., who took the Florida Winter Tour Rotax Micro Max Class Championship this past Sunday afternoon. The winter series wrapped up at Ocala Gran Prix, the site for rounds five and six of the RMC-supported International karting series. Not to be denied the top spot on the box, the second year driver engaged in an epic battle for the win in the Sunday final race event. While not needing the win to clinch, Anthony Jr. was determined to put an exclamation mark on his new title and prove he is the man to beat in 2010. The team headed into the final weekend of competition sitting in second spot in the overall points fight, just 19 back of first place before drops. The G7 Motorsports Team left Ocala up 98 points on second place and the first major cadet championship of 2010 racing season.

"Wow. I'm still a little numb to be honest. To take the championship on our first try is beyond amazing," comments Anthony Gangi Sr. "I am so proud of Anthony Jr., even though he gave me a heart attack in that final race. He is determined to win and you can't hold that kind of spirit back. It's great."

Some could say a rookie winning the FWT title is a bit lucky but looking at this past weekends performance and the series results is proof this was a great run and a well deserved title. On Saturday drivers were greeted with a cool and sunny morning that turned very warm in the afternoon. In morning warm up Anthony Jr. would go P4 and look to improve in timed qualifying. And that he did, taking pole position with a time of 40.020 nearly 3 tenths up on second place.

Anthony Jr. then took the prefinal win, putting himself in the right place to make a move for the title. In the final Anthony Jr. would run a great race taking home third place at the stripe and moving himself into first place in the point standings heading into the final round. On Sunday, racers were handed a much different day as mother nature rolled in the clouds and the heavy rains sending teams to scramble for the right set-up. In morning warm up Anthony Jr. would go second quickest, a sign of things to come on this wet and slippery day. The rest of day would belong to the New York state driver as he took pole in qualifying and backed that up with the win in the prefinal. With his main rival struggling for pace, Anthony Jr. needed to only cruise to a nice finish to take the crown in his first FWT. For young racer with loads of talent and a will to win, he chose to engage in an amazing battle for the last win of the winter season. The leaders swapped spots throughout the closing stages of the race with Anthony Jr. taking the win in a drag race to the line.

"I really wanted to win and I was going to fight for first to the last lap," smiles 8-year-old Anthony Jr. "I wanted to win for my team as they worked really hard to get my kart ready for the rain. The CRG Nevoso Big Al was amazing."

Anthony Jr. has been working all winter with tuner Chris Perez and Jon Nevoso along with the PSL Karting team to ensure they put down their best effort. The FWT was a great start to the season and the statistics are truly incredible. Anthony Jr. would take four prefinal wins out of a total of six pre-finals, giving him an average finishing position of 2.16. Anthony Jr. never missed the top five in the six pre-final races and took the last four in a row. In the final events, Anthony Jr. was dominant all tour long taking two wins, a second and two thirds for a finishing average of 3.16. The G7 pilot was on the top-three podium in five of six races giving him an 83% podium finishing rate and a 33% event win rate.

"What really makes this special is we went down to Florida and beat some very good drivers on their home tracks. Anthony Jr. had to learn and adapt to new tracks each weekend and that was great," comments Anthony Sr. "We can't thank Chris (Perez) and Jon (Nevoso) enough for all their hard work. Dominic (Lebreque) and the whole crew at PSL Karting have been amazing. It was an honor for me and my son to be the first national winners in the Big Al cadet chassis, in which was built in the honor of jons dad."

Up next for Anthony Jr. and the G7 Motorsports Team will be select race events in the New York State area along with running in the new Eastern Canadian Karting Challenge with Quebec-based PSL Karting. Anthony Jr. is looking forward to the US Rotax Grand Nationals being held at New Castle Raceway just 20 minutes from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. As well Anthony Jr. will run in the Rotax North East qualifier series as he looks to defend his 2009 Micro Max Championship.

ANTHONY GANGI JR FWT ROUND TWO REPORT

10-fwt1-01
Brookville, New York - The G7 Motorsports team headed into round two of the Florida Winter Tour Rotax program holding down the second spot in the Rotax Micro Max points championship and looking to keep the early season momentum going. In rounds one and two of FWT action, Anthony Jr. had the race of his young career to take a final event win and show he is a contender for the title. The combination of Anthony Jr., Chris Perez, Jon Nevoso and the PSL Karting team would lay down the fastest lap time in both finals. Team driver Anthony Gangi Jr. had another solid weekend running near the front in all on-track sessions to keep the championship title within reach.

"We had a good momentum coming out of the Orlando round and wanted to keep that going," comments Anthony Gangi Sr., Anthony Jr.'s father. "This is our first real attempt at a major series and we are very excited about being near the top. It was another good weekend."

Weekend two of the three weekend, six-race FWT series head to the newly renovated Palm Beach International Raceway just outside of Jupiter, Florida where the challenging 11-turn 8/10 of a mile track offered up some great racing action. Official Friday practice was solid for Anthony Jr. as he came to grips with the track, seeing it for the first time in his young career. In Saturday qualifying Anthony Jr. would clock in with a time of 57.721 good enough for third spot. In the prefinal Anthony Jr. would run well and take the top spot across the stripe to grab the win. In the final, Anthony Jr. would run at the front from his pole position and run with the lead grouping through out the race distance. At the line Anthony Jr. would battle hard for the lead and grab the second spot on the podium.

On Sunday Anthony Jr. would again lay down a solid qualifying grabbing the third spot for the prefinal. In the prefinal Anthony Jr. got a great start to grab an early lead and crossed the line in the top spot to take pole for the final for the second straight day. The final was a wild affair from the start. On the second attempt to go green the Micro Max drivers began to duke it out running in close formation and swapping the lead with each lap. The corner one/two chicane was tricky for the cadets as they jostled for position into corner three. Anthony Jr. ran at the front making passes and working with the lead group. Late race contact saw him slip back to seventh on the last lap. He charged back to make a dramatic run back to the lead crossing the line in second position. The race was completed under protest as the race officials attempted to sort out several incidents of contact on the closing laps. Anthony Jr. would be one of four drivers assessed an infraction moving him back to ninth spot.

"The penalty was disappointing for sure, but that's racing," comments Anthony Sr. "His charge back forward after getting hit was amazing and I couldn't be more proud of how hard he worked in that race. We still hold onto the second spot in the standings only 19 points back."

Up next for Anthony Jr. and the G7 Motorsports Team will be the third and final weekend of FWT action being held at the newly re-surfaced Ocala Gran Prix. Anthony Jr. will run the entire 2010 Florida Winter Tour Micro Program along with select race events in the New York State area. Anthony Jr. is looking forward to the US Rotax Grand Nationals being held at New Castle Raceway just 20 minutes from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. As well Anthony Jr. will run in the Rotax North East qualifier series as he looks to defend his 2009 Micro Max Championship.
